This handwoven silk stole for women in a subtle shade of yellow has threads and stripes of green and peach woven into it.
Handwoven using a combination of fine silk and cotton yarn, this long silk stole or scarf is a beautiful coming together of legacy and a modern design sensibility. This fabric, called the Maheshwari was developed by a charismatic queen from central India in the 18th century. What makes the fabric special is the fact that it is ideal for summers and winters. It has the sheen of silk and the lightness of fine cotton.
The Maheshwari fabric is still being woven around the old fort of the queen, Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, in her city, Maheshwar. Peepul Tree is proud to showcase this collection of fine handwoven 'Maheshwari' scarves/ stoles.
